
Open to ALL instrumentalists, the University Audition Workshops will
give students a chance to experience the audition process first-hand.
Workshop #1: Audition
Basics $25 ( OCT. 16, 2010)
Students will be introduced to all that is involved in the university
audition process. They will discuss preparation strategies,
technical requirements and what they should expect on the day of their
audition. Each student will receive an audition preparation
package.
Workshop #2:
Professional Presentation $25
Date: Saturday November 27, 2010
The way you interact with the audition committee will have an effect on
the outcome of your audition. In this workshop, we will
discuss:
* Personal presentation
* Stage presence
* Interview skills
* Techniques for dealing
with performance anxiety
* Rehearsal strategies for working with an accompanist
Workshop #3: Mock
Auditions $25 (January 22, 2010)
Building on the skills learned in Audition Workshops 1 and 2, the
students will be led through the audition process from start to finish.
Each student will play for a panel of professional musicians
and
receive feedback on his / her presentation, playing and general
audition skills.
