UNIVERSITY AUDITION WORKSHOPS 2010
University Audition Workshops
Open to ALL instrumentalists, the University Audition Workshops will give students a chance to experience the audition process first-hand.

Workshop #1:  Audition Basics   $25  ( OCT. 16, 2010)

Students will be introduced to all that is involved in the university audition process.  They will discuss preparation strategies, technical requirements and what they should expect on the day of their audition.  Each student will receive an audition preparation package.


Workshop #2:  Professional Presentation   $25
Date: Saturday November 27, 2010

The way you interact with the audition committee will have an effect on the outcome of your audition.  In this workshop, we will discuss:

* Personal presentation
* Stage presence
* Interview skills
* Techniques for dealing with performance anxiety
* Rehearsal strategies for working with an accompanist


Workshop #3:  Mock Auditions   $25 (January 22, 2010)

Building on the skills learned in Audition Workshops 1 and 2, the students will be led through the audition process from start to finish.  Each student will play for a panel of professional musicians and receive feedback on his / her presentation, playing and general audition skills.

Fall Flute Day - November 12, 2010 
Flute Day Flute Workshop
During the Fall Flute Day, students have a chance to spend the day with professional flute players and other flute students.  They will learn instrument-specific strategies and techniques through workshops on tone, technique, audition/exam strategies, masterclasses and playing in the flute choir.


All flute students are welcome, including those who have never taken lessons.

London Summer Flute Camp

The next London Summer Flute Camp will run in early August 2012.

The Flute Camp is open to all elementary and high school flute students.  Both beginner and advanced students are welcome and students do not need to be studying with a private teacher to attend.

Amy O'Neill, B.Mus., is available to run flute and piccolo workshops/sectionals for elementary and high school groups.  As a private teacher with over 18 years of teaching experience and a lecturer in the Don Wright Faculty of Music at the University of Western Ontario, she has a solid pedagogical base and an engaging way with students.
