A
four-day Flute Camp
for elementary and high school flutists is
co-run
by Amy O'Neill and Jennifer Baetz Chester in August.
Students participate in a wide variety of activities, from
flute choir to Baroque dance! To view photos of the last
Summer Flute Camp, click here.
studio play day
An afternoon of
playing completely for fun!
At the Studio Play Day, our students get together to play classical and
Irish music, get to know each other better and have a great time!
fall flute day
A one-day workshop in
the fall gives students the chance to spend the day with professional
flute players and other flute students, learning
flute-specific strategies and techniques.
recitals
Each
spring, the
students at the O'Neill Flute Studio present a recital with both
Irish and
Classical flutists participating. We often work with the
students from other local studios, and previous years have involved
collaborations with harp, oboe and piano
students.
competitions
We are happy to help
students prepare for
music competitions. Our students often participate in the
Kiwanis Music Festival and other flute classes and contests.
exams
Students are welcome
to take
playing and theory exams through the Royal Conservatory
of Music
system.
Examination fees and
dates may be found on the RCM
Examinations website.
auditions
Students who wish to
continue to study music as a unversity program must play an audition in
order to be accepted. We are happy to assist students in
their audition preparation, a process which usually takes a minimum of one year
of private lessons. More information.
