MISSED LESSONS

PLEASE CALL THE STUDIO AT 519-872-6269  24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your regularly scheduled lesson.  Because my schedule is very full, I no longer have the flexibility to do make-up lessons.  If you would like to have your name on the SWAP LIST for lesson rescheduling, please email the studio to indicate that you give permission to have your name, the student's name and phone number published and distributed to the other families on the list.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES

Each term must be paid either in full at the first lesson of the term or by cheques post-dated for each month of the term.  Terms run January to April, May to August and September to December.  Should a student take an extended vacation, it may not be possible to reserve his/her lesson date and time.

There will be no refunds, credits or tuition reductions for any missed lessons. Please make any cheques payable to Amy O'Neill.

DROP POLICY

Should you decide to discontinue lessons, notice must be given prior to the first of the month in which lessons are to end in order that your cheque does not get cashed.  There are no refunds.

ATTENDANCE

Please be prompt. Tardiness will result in lost time for that lesson.

SCENTS

Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes and colognes to the studio as a courtesy to those who are sensitive to them.

SHEET MUSIC

Because of copyright laws, and because artists depend on the sale of music for their livelihood, the studio does not permit photocopies of music. Music may be purchased from any music store, or borrowed from the Public Library. IF YOU ARE LOANED A STUDIO COPY OF SHEET OR RECORDED MUSIC, EXPECT TO REPLACE IT IF IT IS LOST OR DAMAGED.

PRACTICE

Lessons are an exercise in teamwork. This "team" is made up of the student, teacher and parents. Parents are expected to take an active interest in the student's progress, and encourage as necessary.

In order to make consistent progress, the student should practise daily. How well the student practises is more important than how much - one hour of mindful practice per day is better than eight hours of poorly done scales or etudes. Practice plans can be made up to help students practise well.
